Paint en plein air with Mireille Duchesne at La Basse Cour
Mireille is returning to the western Catskills for two en plein air painting workshops at La Basse Cour.
Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting in the landscape. The practice goes back for centuries but was truly made into a art form by the French Impressionists.
During this workshop, you will set up in the heart of our farm, our “basse cour” and spend the day working under the guidance of an experienced landscape artist. Find inspiration in our 19th century buildings surrounded by bucolic fields and pastures, and in our wide array of farm animals including sheep, goats, horses, cows, ducks, geese and chickens. We will provide a farm breakfast at 8am and a picnic basket lunch for you to enjoy at your leisure during the day.
Suitable for all ability levels, this opportunity is limited to 12 participants ages 16 years and older, working in your choice of oil, pastel, or acrylic (not watercolor or oil pastel). A materials list will be provided upon registration. In the event of inclement weather, you will paint outdoors under cover.
Register for one, two, three or 4 days. Breakfasts and lunches included. Make it a retreat and stay with us in our bed&breakfast!
1 day fee $125 (Includes 1 day of instruction, 1 breakfast, 1 lunch)
2 day fee $220 (Includes 2 days of instruction, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches)
